Googling the meaning of maturity, states the most basic definition, it says the state or period of being mature, one who is fully grown or developed.
Maturity is supposed to be fully evident in all aspects of human lives. It could be physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. I may not be on the peak of my maturity, not even half of my life reached this full grown state. But please allow me to share my own definition of the word, for i believe maturity comes along with time and experience.
Maturity is a stage of one’s life when our heart does not invade our mind at all, instead these two work equally apart. I get old with time and my experiences taught me a lot of lessons. I am who I am because of those who caused me so much pain, hurt me, betrayed me. Yet they taught me to forgive, to love still, to let go, to move on, to choose life. To be better, tougher, stronger! I am who I am because of those practical lessons learned from home, that kind of loving without any questions, caring without asking anything in return, undying support that cannot be measured. Family is my home and I could confidently say, wherever I go and whatever I do, I know I always have a home to run back to. They are the one's who push me to persevere, to be determined in reaching my dreams and value life above all! I am who I am because of my pals, with them I can laugh out loud as much as I can, with them can share my thoughts without boundaries, I can tell the story of my life without hesitations. With them I can be funny, I can be sad, I can be hilarious, I can be who I am.
I am who I am because of my brethrens, the church, my warriors in faith. Trials and testings became extraordinary each day. Their words of encouragement, their testimonies, their prayers feeds my soul. They push me to endure, to be patient, to stay in faith. With them I live in peace, in joy, in love and in patience.
All these molded as
a person of character, a person full of dreams and determination, a person that inspires others, a person who keeps friends as a treasure, a person who values family above all, a person with a heart that listens,
a person who understands life's anxieties,
a person who easily forgives
a person who choose to live in peace, love & joy.
I may not be that strong but I endured, I may have some trials but I can still smile, I may not be that lucky but I am blessed, I may not be that matured but I’m trying to get there!
